Do you want to feel better about yourself? Perhaps you feel you can’t chase after your kids (grandkids?) or you’re stuck in a physical rut not knowing how to get out. Maybe you want to set yourself a lifetime challenge: a marathon, a triathlon or a tough mudder. Or maybe you just want to get leaner and wear some attractive clothes again – I’m including the boys in this one as well. 

 If so – then I have a solution: Personalised Coaching. This is my own concept based on my experiences as a qualified personal trainer, certified Ironman Coach and my own journey starting ten years ago as someone who did little exercise to completing 9 marathons and every triathlon distance including Ironman.

 The personal touch 

 Everything I do will take a holistic view of your current health and fitness:

  • Your current physical and mental status; 
  • Your goals (5k Park Run? Marathon? Muscle build? Weight loss? Get fitter and feel better? Ironman!- You tell me); 
  • Your work, family and social commitments;
  • Your available time;
  • The programme will be entirely tailored to your circumstances.

 Coaching 

Personal Training is just one aspect of your journey. I will motivate you, run (cycle, swim, row) with you, I will instruct you in the gym and teach you how to lift weights and do effective ab crunches. 
You will learn the basics of nutrition – the platform of personal fitness.
Having said I will run with you – of course I can. But this is not an effective use of a PT. Things like this are for your days without me.

I will give you the confidence to do this in your days away from me.

 Teaching 

  • I will teach you how to become self sufficient. 
  • I will instruct you in my gym, I will teach you so that you can go back on your own with confidence. 
  • I will teach you the principles of good nutrition – it’s not about fad diets or calorie counting by the way!
  • I will introduce you to different forms of training that you will come to enjoy and want to pursue yourself.

 Supporting 

I will be there for you. No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.

Some days I’ll be training with you and other days you’ll be on your own. But I want to know what you’ve done, how you felt, your metrics (pace, heart rate, distance, time, weights, etc). I expect my clients to be in touch virtually every day.
 
I need to know how you are progressing – do we need to change things? So you don’t feel too well today – should you still train or have a day off? – talk to me.
